English Yoga Classes in Munich

When I first moved to Munich, I struggled to find English yoga classes. But after living here for a year and a half and exploring different teachers and studios, I've found my favorite teachers in the city who teach exclusively in English. You will most likely see me practicing with them:

Leia Schlanz: Vinyasa Flow, Rocket Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga

When I first came to Leia’s class I immediately felt like she needed to be my friend. Her infectious energy hits you as soon as you walk in, but don't be fooled—she'll push you to your limits in the best way possible.

Leia incorporates a bit of snippets of her love for Pilates in her flows that leave you shaking to melt you into your deserved savasana. If you want to build the strength to take your practice to another level whilst leaving with a smile on your face then she is the one to go to. Plus, sometimes you are lucky enough to see her dog Zeus (a beautiful brown Dalmatian) who loves to make guest appearances.

Yoshio Hama: Dharma and Handstand Practice

Originally from Venezuela, Yoshio has recently made Munich his new home after spending significant time in New York City. With roots deeply embedded in the teachings of Sri Dharma Mittra, Yoshio brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his yoga practice.

Don't miss Yoshio's signature "Complete Practice" classes at the Yoga Loft, where you'll dive into every aspect of yoga—from asana to pranayama, chanting, philosophy, and beyond. These two-hour sessions on Saturdays are a comprehensive immersion into the richness of the yogic tradition. Oh, and don’t miss his handstand practice! If you want to make your handstands look effortless in your practice, Yoshio is the one to go to.

Fun fact: Yoshio is friends with my Rocket Yoga teacher David Kyle, having undergone an Advanced Rocket Yoga teacher training himself. It makes me extremely happy to see more and more teachers with a Rocket background moving to Munich!
